Lee Patterson
Sigma Teacher
Lee Patterson has worked as a Sigma Director since 2015. Since joining the MMA community, he has been involved with coaching ultimate frisbee, guiding his math students to build playground equipment, and leading as many outdoor education experiences as possible. Lee is a graduate of the University of Victoria, having completed a Bachelor of Arts with a major in French, as well as a Bachelor of Education, with a middle school focus. He is also a graduate of the Cincinnati Montessori Secondary Teacher Education Program (CMSTEP). In his free time, Lee enjoys a wide array of activities, including: swimming, ultimate frisbee, hockey, skiing, kitesurfing, camping, cooking, reading, and gardening.

Basil Kazakos
Sigma Teacher
Mr. Basil is new to the school, bringing a lifetime of teaching and facilitating experience along with him. He has studied at different universities, guest lectured at a few, taught across Canada in a variety of locations and unique situations. Along the way he was Head of Schools for The Toronto Montessori Schools. When he is not at school, he works on the third draft of his book where he shares his experience and perspective of education, plays bass and guitar, practices T’ai Chi and exercises at the gym.

Sarah Gord
Sigma Teacher
Sarah Gord joined MMA in 2022. After earning her Bachelor’s in History and English, she moved to Norway to teach English, politics, and writing to high school and college students. She then moved to Oakland, California, where she completed her Master’s in Education and taught middle school for five years. While in Oakland, she co-coordinated a drama program and directed two shows per year. She is passionate about working with middle school students and supporting their growth and wellbeing. In her spare time, Sarah enjoys running, exploring new restaurants, and reading Shakespeare.
